3 rd Sunday of Advent
Readings: Is 35:1-6a, 10/Jas 5:7-10/Mt 11:2-11
Cynthia Roman: Librarian
My reflection for today, the 3rd Sunday of Advent reminds us of the power of the
Lord. He reminds us to remain steadfast in faith. For the Lord is joy. The Lord is
good. Although we may drown in our own problems and despairs, we must
remember that God is in control of what is to become. We must realize that the
Lord is a Healer. Lord is strength, Lord is beauty. In a world of chaos, confusion,
and indecision we tend to question and wonder why the Lord would make us
suffer. Uncertain of the outcome, we must remain steadfast in his word. Even in
the desert where the environment might make it unbearable you still find beauty
around with the bloom of flowers or plants and sunsets. In reference to the weak
and sick, they are made well and strong rejoicing with the Lord. As we reflect on
the readings, we must be prepared and believe with all our heart that we are patient
and trust that only the Lord knows what is best for us. Stay joyful in all you do and
see. Stay patient in all that you may encounter and all you do. In the meantime, we
must stay prayerful and faithful knowing the Lord has prepared our way. We all
will exult in his word and his coming.
