Saturday of the 4th Week of Advent
Readings: 2 Samuel 7:1-5, 8b-12, 14a, 16/Lk 1:67-79

In today’s scripture, we are reminded of the prophecies of the coming of our
mighty savior, born of the house of his servant David, who will come to deliver us
from our sins with the hope and promises of salvation. Today’s scripture reminds
us how grateful King David was to God for blessing his house and family. I’m also
thankful for the house God has provided my family and I. May we remember not
to be so busy and preoccupied with worldly things that we forget to invite God, our
family, and friends into our homes. Furthermore, today’s scripture should instill in
us that God is always with us and that we are temples of God. We need to let God
build us and dwell in us as his spiritual temples, so that He can prepare us and lead
us to do His work. How is your family being blessed this Advent season? How is
God leading you to do his work?
